Alicante’s most beautiful towns

We’re lucky enough to be located in the Alicante province, in the heart of the Costa Blanca, surrounded by an enormous number of beautiful towns, places to visit and things to do, meaning you’re bound to leave feeling like you’ve made the most of your holidays in Villajoyosa.

So that you can plan a truly wonderful trip, have a look at a selection of the most beautiful towns in Alicante we’ve picked out for you.

Benidorm

Benidorm

Benidorm, a Spanish and European tourist capital par excellence, offers a wide variety of activities and places to visit. Theme parks and water parks, high quality beaches with its famous island on the horizon, nightclubs, water sports and a ton of street life.

With all this and its skyscrapers, it’s a city with some of the cleanest air in Spain according to the WHO. The cycle lane links all the important points of the city, and it has a very extensive public transport network to make your visit that bit easier.

Theme parks

You can book your tickets to any of the parks from our campsite.

We’ll help you plan your visit, give you the tickets directly at the campsite to save you queues, and, on top of that, you’ll save a lot of money, as we also offer exclusive prices.

You can get combined tickets to go to different parks or buy just for one.

Terra Mítica

A theme park of ancient Mediterranean civilisations. Roller coasters, a free-fall tower and a giant pendulum are some of the highlights. And on hot days, don’t worry, there are large swimming pool areas and jacuzzis.

It’s located just 3 TRAM stops away or 10 minutes by car.

Aqualandia

A water park in Benidorm perfect for a summer’s day. Outrageous slides, wave pools, children’s pools… And did you know they have the highest capsule slide in the world?

Mundomar

Marine and exotic animal park in Benidorm, located next to Aqualandia. Among other activities, you can swim with dolphins or sea lions and be their carer for a day.

Terra Natura

Animal park in Benidorm with more than 1,500 animals of 200 different species. You’ll be able to see elephants, tigers, as well as venomous creatures, with an environment set in their habitat.

Aqua Natura

Next to the Terra Natura park, we find this water park that’s great for both young and old to enjoy. Wave pool, children’s pool, slides…

Iberia Park

This park has a large spa area where you can relax and refresh, as well as attractions and restaurants that will ensure maximum enjoyment and fun for your stay. It’s situated next to Terra Mítica.

You can also book tickets for more shows with us, such as Benidorm Palace, Castillo Conde de Alfaz, Benidorm Circus…

Finestrat

Finestrat

Sea and mountains together in the same place. On the one hand, we find the Cala de Finestrat, a bay that has been awarded the Blue Flag for 30 years. On the other is the village, situated on a hill with its characteristic hanging houses.

At Camping Alicante Imperium we enjoy beautiful views of the Puig Campana. This peak, located within the municipality of Finestrat, is the protagonist of the oldest and most popular legends of the region. No wonder, as it’s one of the most unique locations on the Spanish coast. If you want to breathe fresh air in this protected natural area, you can climb its 1410 metres.

You can stroll through its Moorish streets, visit the Sant Bertomeu church and stop to admire the views and take some photos from El Castell. You can also go to the Font del Molí (the Mill Fountain) to taste the water from one of its 15 spouts in its spring and take a walk around the surrounding area.

And you can’t miss out on trying the arròs amb fressols i naps and coca girada, two traditional dishes that are prepared with high quality ingredients and a lot of love.

Alicante

Alicante

There are a thousand and one things to do in Alicante; you can visit Santa Barbara Castle, stroll along the Ramblas, go shopping, see the Bonfires of San Juan in June, enjoy the famous “tardeo”, where meals out and drinks are enjoyed throughout the afternoon and often into the night… and it’s all close to Camping Alicante Imperium.

Alicante is the capital and largest city of the province, so it’s very well connected with all the nearby cities.

Lucentum was the name given to the Iberian-Roman city that was located in present-day Alicante. Today, it’s one of the most important and best preserved archaeological sites in the Valencia region, and it’s a great place to visit.

MARQ (Archaeological Museum of Alicante)

If you want to find out everything about Roman Culture, the MARQ has a room that explains and exhibits Romanisation, life during the empire, Christianity and the late Roman world in the province of Alicante in a clear, educational manner.

You can get to the Museum quickly and comfortably from the campsite as the TRAM has a stop right at its entrance.

El Campello

El Campello

El Campello is a coastal tourist town in the Alicante Province.

There, you’ll find the Illeta dels Banyets archaeological site, one of the best examples of what our territory used to be like. Iberian, Roman and Islamic remains have been found at the site, and it is known to have been an important commercial port. It’s sometimes known as the ‘Queen’s Bathing Pools’, as, according to legend, this place was the baths of a Moorish queen.

In addition, you can also visit the Torre Vigía de la Illeta, which was built in the mid-16th century to warn and protect the locals from Berber pirates.

Altea

Altea

The Costa Blanca is beautiful, and this town is one of the reasons why.

Altea is one of those charming towns that we love so much, brimming with art and magic in every corner. Its architecture, with its landscape of white houses and winding streets, is one of the most striking in the area.

If you like crafts and culture, Altea is a bohemian town you really have to visit. It’s simple to get to from our campsite with the TRAM that runs along the coast of Alicante.

Alfaz del pi y Playa del Albir

In Alfaz del Pi you’ll find the Sierra Helada Natural Park, a wonderful place where you can walk along the cliffs and reach the lighthouse of l’Albir. It’s suitable for all ages, and you can go with your pet too, but in summer, remember to wear a hat!

Also, for film buffs, the Alfàs del Pi Film Festival brings together numerous national and international productions in July each year.

Albir beach has the perfect atmosphere on summer nights as there’s a wide variety of restaurants and craft stalls. You can also check the cinema programme on the beach at the campsite – another brilliant way to spend a summers evening.

Guadalest

Guadalest

How is it possible that El Castell de Guadalest is the most visited village in Spain, yet it only has 240 inhabitants? Well, because there are few villages with charm like this one.

It has been declared both a ‘Conjunto Histórico Artístico’ heritage site and a Cultural Interest Asset, and we’re not surprised – its unique setting, architecture and medieval history make the village a magical place.

After visiting its numerous museums and enjoying the views of the reservoir and the valley, you can stop off at one of its restaurants, most of which offer traditional cuisine from the province: garden produce, rice dishes and good wine.

Las Fuentes del Algar

Fuentes del Algar

The Algar Waterfalls (Las Fuentes del Algar or Les Fonts de l’Algar) is a beautiful natural spot that contrasts with the landscapes we’re used to on the Costa Blanca.

This time we put on our swimsuits to go to the mountain: swim among waterfalls, discover the springs and enjoy the pure and crystal-clear water.

You’ll find parking, toilets, first aid, a picnic area and an informative tour in the area. There are also several restaurants to choose from.

The Algar Waterfalls in Callosa d’En Sarrià, a natural wonder!
